I help your audience learn clearly and simply about the Polyvagal Theory the first time.

I would love to present at your next event about mental health, trauma, and the Polyvagal Theory.

you want the best for your audience.

I've attended a number of trauma trainings during my years as a therapist. Each of them sadly fit into two ineffective categories:

1. they teach about trauma by using shock value. (This isn't necessary.)

2. they teach about the biology of trauma... but wow, it gets boring! (I promise it can be more engaging.)

clarity
simplicity
& shared language.

I want the same thing you do - the best possible experience and deepest learning for your audience. I ensure that through two fairly simple standards for myself -

  1. If I have to rely on shock value, I'm underserving the audience.

  2. If I can't teach simply, I don't understand deeply.

These standards have driven me to learn and practice at a level most others shy away from. My content audience, clients, and colleagues consistently tell me I make complex ideas clear and simple. I do the same thing for live audiences, whether virtual or in person.

who I love presenting to

The short answer is - everyone!

But more specifically, I love presenting to mental health providers who have never heard of the Polyvagal Theory. I get so much out of seeing the lightbulbs go off in peoples' minds as their eyes light up. I love hearing them share about new ideas and understandings.

These moments of clarity and insight are deeply fulfilling for me. I hope to bring these experiences to your people!

your audience deserves the best.

I make learning about the Polyvagal Theory and trauma informative, fun, & interactive.

  • Live polling: Audiences use their preferred devices to interact anonymously with polling software. The results are shown on a big screen immediately, creating a fun, judgment-free experience.

  • Mixed media: You'd be surprised at how effective a clip from the Office can be at showing defensive autonomic states or how Ferris Bueller's Day Off can be the perfect example of vocal prosody.

  • Discussion: I use both large group and small group discussions to elicit connections with audience members and real-world applications of ideas.

  • Fun "experiments": I include audience activities to experience state shifts live, like talking to a partner while the other is not allowed to show facial expressions!
